Becoming Catholic

becoming catholic

Over a billion people call the Catholic Church home.

The Catholic Church welcomes all people to become disciples of Jesus Christ. The path to seeking and knowing Christ is different for everyone, but the process of OCIA is the door to full participation in the richness of the Catholic faith. After all, even Jesus’ apostles spent years in preparation, being taught by Jesus, until they were confirmed in the truth of the Gospels by the Holy Spirit. Now, formation in the practice of the faith takes place over the course of 25 weeks, including breaks, yet it is no less powerful.

What is OCIA?

It stands for the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults.

Who is OCIA For?

- Unbaptized adults who desire to enter the Catholic Church

- Adults baptized in other Christian denominations who now desire to become Catholic

- Baptized Catholics who were not raised in the Catholic tradition and would like to receive the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation

Are you thinking about becoming Catholic? Are you still unsure, but interested in learning more? Are you Catholic and looking to receive all your sacraments?
