THIS LENT, AN INVITATION TO UNCOMMON FREEDOM
Lent is a time of repentance, of turning to the Lord to receive his mercy and begin again. Embracing the cross each day becomes our own path for following Christ out of darkness and into his undying light. This Lent, Exodus offers daily reflections from the Prophets, such as Jonah and Isaiah, and the Gospels to focus us on the themes of repentance and the cross. In addition, we receive weekly reflections from Fr. Boniface Hicks, OSB, and Jake Khym, our spiritual guides, who will be available to answer your questions. We will also look to the ancient monks for inspiration through our weekly podcast with Bishop Erik Varden, Desert Fathers in a Year.
PRAYER Each morning you’ll receive a passage from sacred scripture and a reflection to guide your silent prayer.
ASCETICISM We can’t say “Yes” to God until we have said “No” to the world and it’s comforts. You’ll return to the Church’s ancient — and largely forgotten — tradition of asceticism. You’re encouraged and invited to practice as many of the disciplines as you can.
FRATERNITY You will join other men from the community on your journey. Each week you’ll meet in person. Together you will follow a simple structure for prayer, accountability and encouragement.
